Reef Critters

A mixed-media textile work that celebrates the vibrant beauty and remarkable diversity of life within a flourishing coral reef. Colorful fish created from fabric swim among an abundant underwater landscape filled with dimensional coral, reef plants, and marine forms constructed from lace, beads, and a variety of specialty fibers. Brilliant shades of orange, yellow, red, purple, blue, and green create a rich tapestry of color and texture, while intricate beadwork forms clusters of coral that add depth and detail to the composition. Tall, branching reef plants rise gracefully through the water, creating a sense of movement and guiding the eye among the colorful fish and richly layered marine life below.
