"A Path of Beauty"
Paths can be found in our homes, in gardens, and in wooded areas. They make it easy for us to get around and have access to the beauty that nature offers us on any given day. A path can show us natures secrets, but only if we take the time to look.
In general, paths are utilitarian in nature, and are made of rocks, pebbles, flagstones, gravel, brick, mulch and much, much more. Their simple purpose is to help us get from one place to another. They travel through a garden filled with every flowering plant imaginable, trees that feel like they go on for miles and miles or a yard with stepping stones that lead to a favorite quite nook. Venturing on a path may connect us to each other, to nature, and to experiences that we otherwise may not have had.
“Sunset Among The Trees”
Whether I am being led into gardens, woods or a place in my yard, paths entice me to enter them, explore where they may lead or show me something amazing. The most enjoyable paths I like to wander through are the ones that have been created to tantalize the senses. These kinds of paths bring me to experience a sense of awareness, elated joy and an incredible beauty as I travel through them.
A Day’s Stroll
The enchantment of a path is that it morphs into something different daily or with each new season, and constantly displays new wonders. It is because of its ever-changing beauty that I enjoy depicting them in art. I love to be able to capture a moment in time where these traveled paths stand still forever.
